The South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads is a non-partisan, nonprofit, statewide organization that advocates on the issue of infrastructure. SCFOR is made up of business leaders, associations, and chambers of commerce who believe that a safe and efficient highway system is essential to continuing our state’s economic growth. As such, we have consistently advocated for sustainable, recurring funding to alleviate South Carolina’s infrastructure crisis.
For five years, SCFOR implemented a targeted campaign to gain support for a comprehensive road funding bill. In 2017, we worked in collaboration with the South Carolina business community to apply pressure on the SC House and Senate – calling for action on a roads bill. Ultimately, our efforts worked to encourage a bipartisan, bicameral compromise and resulted in the passage of Act 40, the SC Infrastructure and Economic Development Act.
In 2017-2018 SCFOR’s mission will pivot – placing a stronger focus on public education and targeted advocacy. However, we intend to continue our core mission of promoting a safer, more efficient highway system.
