Lawmakers in South Carolina have finally taken action to protect South Carolina drivers by passing a real road funding bill for the first time in three decades to repair and maintain our highways and bridges. We commend the House and Senate for making this issue a legislative priority.
The goal of fixing our roads is now within sight, and we encourage lawmakers to continue championing the legislation.
The South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads and the people of South Carolina have worked tirelessly for several years, encouraging lawmakers to pass a long-term plan to fix our crumbling roads.
Lawmakers in both the House and Senate heard the public’s outcry for better roads and, as a result, acted to secure a plan that will make South Carolina’s transportation system an object of pride.
Advocates from across the state that contacted their lawmaker in support of better roads have been crucial to the passage of this bill. However, we must finish the job by encouraging lawmakers to finalize the legislation.
Further, it is critical that we continue contacting Governor McMaster and tell him to do the right thing for South Carolina and sign the roads bill into law when it arrives on his desk.
We encourage you to thank your lawmaker for acting and tell Governor McMaster to support the roads bill by filling out the form below.
